Cambodian clothing sector to prioritise skills and supply chain strength

Cambodia’s clothing and footwear industry must accelerate its shift from low‑cost manufacturing to higher skills, sustainability and supply chain resilience as the country prepares to graduate from Least Developed Country status, speakers warned at the Cambodia Textile Summit 2026.

The summit, organised by EuroCham Cambodia together with the Textile, Apparel, Footwear and Travel Goods Association in Cambodia, the International Labour Organization, Better Factories Cambodia and GIZ, brought together industry leaders in June to outline a competitiveness roadmap for the country’s garment, footwear and travel goods sector.

The one‑day event focused on sustainability, innovation, skills development and supply chain upgrading at a time when Cambodia faces major changes in global trade frameworks.
