D&Y Group to invest US$100m for factory expansion in Malaysia

China-based textile manufacturer Shandong Daiyin Textile & Garment Group (D&Y Group) will invest about US$100m to expand its spinning facility in Sedenak, Johor, by the end of the year.

D&Y Group chairman Zhao Huan Chen said the company had already invested US$100m for the first phase, which was completed one year after construction began. “We hope to start the second phase by year-end and once the expansion is completed, production will double,” he said.

The factory currently runs 100,000 spindles with an annual output of 30,000 tonnes of yarn.
