Danish initiative to recycle cruise ship and hotel textiles

Many cruise ships, offices, hotels and other public environments are covered with carpets and upholstery fabrics made of wool/polyamide blends. This combination of materials gives the products a long lifespan but makes the recycling process more difficult when they are replaced.

To exploit the recycling potential, manufacturers, researchers and knowledge partners have joined forces in the Danish partnership UnBlend, which aims to make textiles easier to reuse and recycle.
