The FILK Freiberg Institute, an independent German research institution with expertise in polymer coatings for textile applications, has collaborated with Optotransmitter–Umweltschutz–Technologie (OUT) in a project focused on developing flexible, conductive polymer surfaces for next-generation smart textiles.
The goal was to enable the free distribution of multiple light-emitting diodes and sensors across a textile surface by creating a uniform conductive “potential field” within the material – technology that enables greater flexibility compared with conventional conductor tracks.
