Flexible material for self-powered wearable sensors

A team led by US researchers at Pennsylvania State University has developed a new fabrication approach that optimises the internal structure of electrospun fibres to improve their performance in electronic applications.

The new material could be used in clothing to monitor a person’s health in real time because the clothing itself is a self-powered sensor.
