Researchers at the University of Lincoln, UK, and Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan, have developed a new type of wound patch by adding magnesium chloride (MgCl2) to polyurethane nanofibres.
These enhanced patches are said to be stronger, more blood compatible and exhibit superior antibacterial properties than conventional patches, which could improve healing outcomes and care for patients with serious injuries.
