Indonesia's troubled textile firm Sri Rejeki Isman (Sritex) is reported to be in talks with potential investors to take over assets under a lease scheme, which could create an opportunity for the company’s workers to be rehired.
Once Southeast Asia’s largest textile manufacturer, Sritex was declared bankrupt at the end of last year as it struggled to service its debts, which reached US$1.6bn in June.
