Multi-layer acoustic nonwoven for improving noise insulation

A European collaboration between three partners and one subcontractor has developed a sustainable and high-performance multi-layer acoustic nonwoven fabric for improving the noise insulation in both electric and internal combustion vehicles.

Outlined at September’s Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress held in Dornbirn, Austria, the Acoustiwall project aims to improve noise isolation and absorption in the low and mid-frequency region for vehicles by designing and developing an energy-efficient and eco-friendly wheel arch liner based on a lightweight nonwoven fabric, which is also aimed to increased the driving range of electric vehicles.
