A needle-punched nonwoven containing superabsorbent fibres for a wound dressing has been developed by Carl Freudenberg, part of technology company Freudenberg Group of Weinheim, Germany.
The nonwoven is said to combine high elasticity with good absorption capacity, which is at the same time stable against mechanical influences after absorption of liquid.
