On 9 June, a group of labour rights activists and trade unionists in the Philippines held a protest to call for the ending of union-busting in the MetroWear factory, a subsidiary of Sports City International and alleged to be one of the suppliers of Lululemon and other global fashion brands.
The labour rights groups also alleged that the factory’s closure for three months was an attempt to repress union activities and that more than 1,800 workers would be impacted.
