Many Russian textile and clothing producers are continuing to scale back their operations in the domestic market owing to financial problems and the deteriorating situation in the country.
Valentina Mironova, president of the Russian Union of Light Industry Manufacturers, said companies of all sizes are leaving the market at an accelerating pace. For example, in 2025, well-known companies such as I Am Studio, Mellow, Incity, Deseo, Just Clothes and Inspire Girls have departed due to the high tax burden, the ongoing rise in rent and costs, and competition from marketplaces and illegal imports.
She added that up to 30% of Russian textile and clothing manufacturers are on the brink of collapse, as their losses are growing.
