Smart textiles could control devices or monitor health in cars

Textiles that sense gestures and respond to them can transform how people interact with everyday objects and materials, including vehicle interiors, by embedding touch-sensing stitches directly onto fabric elements, according to Sara Nabil of Queen’s University, Ontario, Canada.
