UK/Sweden partnership to develop smart medical textiles

Sweden-based Trelleborg, a developer of engineered coated fabrics, has announced a new knowledge transfer partnership with Nottingham Trent University’s Medical Technologies Innovation Facility in Nottingham, UK.

This collaboration, which is partly funded by Innovate UK, aims to expand Trelleborg’s capabilities in smart fabrics for healthcare applications and the partnership will look to accelerate the development of a smart mattress system designed to enhance patient care and reduce medical interventions.
