Unwanted clothing sent from Singapore to Malaysia for recycling
Singapore is now shipping up to 70 tonnes of unwanted clothing every week to a recycling facility in Port Klang, Malaysia, in what has become one of Southeast Asia’s largest cross‑border textile recovery partnerships.
The initiative is led by Cloop, a Singapore social enterprise that collects used garments through a network of textile recycling bins, and Life Line Clothing, a Malaysian recycler that sorts and processes the material.
