Vegan car interiors grow in popularity, says PETA

Electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian has received a “REVolutionary Vegan Vehicle” Award from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) after it confirmed that it does not use any animal-derived materials in its interiors and has no plans to do so.

Many other automotive companies, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Tesla, Volkswagen and Volvo, have also begun offering leather-free interiors, according to the US-based non-profit animal rights organisation. Volvo also announced that all of its cars would be completely leather-free by 2030.
