Indonesia’s textile industry is experiencing a steep downturn, with the Indonesian Fiber and Filament Yarn Producers Association (APSyFI) reporting the closure of five factories in 2025 alone.
APSyFI secretary general Farhan Aqil Syauqi said the shutdowns resulted in at least 3,000 workers losing their jobs.
