Myanmar's clothing exports set to hit US$3bn in 2017

Myanmar’s clothing exports could reach US$3bn this year, boosted by an increase in investment and orders.

Myint Soe, chairman of the Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association, said: “In the past, Japan was the biggest market, but it has been overtaken by the EU.

“Every month, four to six companies invest in the garment industry. The massive inflow of investment is coupled with high orders.”
