Turkistan to become centre of textile and cotton production

download 1The Turkistan region is expected to become a centre of cotton and textile production in Kazakhstan through the commissioning of new textile production facilities.

State plans include an increase in cotton production in Maktaaral and Zhetysaysky, two major cotton-producing districts of the Turkistan region that had a combined cotton harvest of 212,000 tonnes, with the Maktaaral district growing cotton on 38,000 hectares.
