Further Autoneum capacity expansion in Mexico

InaugurationoftheSanLuisPotosi1plant

Following last month’s inauguration of a new plant in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, Autoneum has begun construction of a second production facility in the state as a result of high demand for lightweight noise and heat protection components in the North American market.

From early 2017, carpet systems, inner dashes and floor insulators will be produced at the Autoneum plant in San Luis Potosí, around 400 km northwest of Mexico City.

From this 27,000 m2 facility, the company will supply US and German original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) producing locally for the North American market.

From 2018, underfloor systems, carpets and heatshields will be produced for German, US and Japanese OEMs at the second plant of 19,000 m2 in San Luis Potosí.

Autoneum will create 430 new jobs at the two plants in the city by 2020.
