Cambodia stripped of some EU trade preferences

The EU will partially suspend Cambodia’s trade preferences because of systematic violations of human rights.

The country will lose around 20% of the preferential rights it enjoys under the Everything But Arms (EBA) scheme that the EU offers to 48 of the world’s poorest countries, which is equivalent to €1bn (US$1.1bn) of Cambodia’s exports to the EU.
