Myanmar is on track to meet its target of achieving textile exports worth US$10bn by 2024, according to the Myanmar Garment Manufacturers’ Association. The target was set as part of the country’s 10-year export strategy in 2014, reports the Myanmar Times.

In fiscal 2018-19, the textile manufacturing sector generated US$4.6bn in export revenue, accounting for nearly 10% of Myanmar’s total export revenues, according to the Ministry of Commerce. In the current fiscal year, officials are expecting textile export revenues to reach US$5bn.
