Myanmar worker support fund pays out MMK4bn

Myanmar’s clothing workers who have lost their jobs due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic have now received more than MMK4bn (US$2.9bn) in payments through the EU-funded Myan Ku (Quick Assistance) Fund.

Between 1 May and 3 August, halfway through the initiative, Myan Ku has distributed emergency cash payments to laid-off and suspended workers, reaching 45,061 payments.
