Under its Generation Global brand, National Aircraft Interiors is now supplying crew seat covers using a new “high wear” fabric.
Consumer feedback was that the traditional grey crew seat fabric with white fleck, which is used across many aircraft makes and models, continually wears through owing to the particular fabric design.
National Aircraft commissioned a mill to design a fabric of similar characteristics, including compliance to FAR 25.853(a) burn test requirements, but with the requirement of much higher wearability.
This resulted in a new crew seat fabric called Geneva CS-50, which has been especially developed for the needs of crew seating: the 90% wool/10% polyamide material looks in keeping with the traditional cockpit look yet wears more than three times better using the Martindale abrasion test.
