Waste automotive textiles as a source of quality raw materials

stered3Current textiles used in the automotive industry are mainly made from synthetic fibres, often a combination of several textile materials or with other non-textile materials to create composite fabrics. In this form, however, recycling using conventional textile technologies is virtually impossible.

A completely new approach to recycling is needed to be able to reuse these materials at the end of the vehicle life as a source of new raw material.

Developed by PR Krajné, based in western Slovakia, the patented Stered technology is based on reprocessing waste from composite textiles that minimises processing costs and energy consumption.

At the same time, the recycled material retains the original properties of the composite textile product, which allows it to be converted into a new insulation product.
