‘Digital camouflage’ shirt launched to defeat AI surveillance

Berlin, Germany-based designer Simon Weckert has created a shirt designed to make its wearer invisible to artificial intelligence-powered surveillance cameras, timed to the city’s rollout of automated facial-recognition monitoring at Kottbusser Tor.

Called Digital Camouflage, the garment is engineered specifically to exploit the blind spots in the algorithms now watching public space that are already watching streets in other cities, from London to Los Angeles.
