At the Passenger Experience Conference, which took place ahead of last month’s Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany, Garen Moreno, director strategic partnering, BMW Designworks, described the over-65 “ageing travellers” – an age group that has more discretionary income/wealth than any other.
Travel is a necessity for their lifestyle, which creates new opportunities for airlines and suppliers of cabin interior, as well as providers of textile furnishings. This generation demands control, is willing to pay for premium experience and creates opportunities for original equipment manufacturers, where comfort is the key.
