Benjamin Hubert, founder and creative director of the UK-based design firm Layer, has conceptualised an economy-class seating prototype for Airbus driven by smart textiles.

Called “Move”, the concept allows passengers to monitor and control various factors,  including seat tension and temperature, on short to mid-haul flights.

The concept was 18 months in development and is part of an ongoing relationship between Layer and Airbus dedicated to rethinking the flying experience.

The concept aims to create the optimum comfort by allowing passengers to customise their seat.
