Aunde velvet fabric used in Grenoble tramway refurbishment

grenoble

Beginning in 2013, the refurbishment of the 38 trams in Grenoble, France, was conducted in the ACC workshops in Clermont-Ferrand.

MBD Design was chosen by Ingerop to lead the preliminary study and then by Bombardier for the industrialisation stage.

The goal of the refurbishment was to propose a new exterior livery as well as a more spacious interior while integrating new seats and new lighting.

Using velvet fabric from Aunde (Spain), the dominant orange atmosphere evokes the original colours of the seats. The colours have been modernised for a contemporary interior that is far away from the 1970s bright orange.
