Autonomous driving will transform vehicle interiors

By 2035, around 50% of all new vehicles could be fully autonomous. However, in the short term the mass penetration of fully autonomous vehicles is likely to remain elusive, according to Christian Hainz, senior automotive analyst at Ernst & Young, Germany.

It is expected that 85.9m vehicles will be produced by original equipment manufacturers in 2020 with collision avoidance systems, up from 10.8m in 2016, he said at the Plastic Free World Conference & Expo held in June in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
