Belarus plans to significantly reduce the volume of textile imports by 2020, according to President Alexander Lukashenko.

This will be mainly due to the recently approved state programme, which involves supporting domestic producers, such as BPHO, Mogotex, Orshansky Flax Factory, Kamvol, MPKO and Groniteks, through the provision of US$250m in direct investment to help these companies complete their modernisation programmes.
