Best results in 12 years for Czech textile and clothing industry

In 2017 Czech textile and clothing companies recorded their best results over the past 12 years. The figures were fuelled mainly by the fast growing economy and by a focus on technical textiles, such as those used in the automotive, agriculture, healthcare and aviation industries.

“The growth suggests a close interconnection between the textile industry and other fields,” said Jirí Cesal, head of the Czech Association of Textile, Clothing and Leather Industries (ATOK). “It is clearly driven by the automotive industry, which uses textiles for the production of many of its components.”
