Bio-based fibres for ultra-high performance tyres

Rayon is still the material of choice for ultra-high performance tyres and is the only bio-based fibre used in such end-uses on a large scale.

Glanzstoff Industries has now developed Viscord CS3 HM – a high-modulus, high-tenacity rayon reinforcement yarn that offers improved handling properties compared with standard “super 2” tyre cord and has been approved for use in UHP tyres.
