mtxdec20 fig4A biocompatible soft tissue implant, such as a breast implant, in which biocompatible materials are used as the surface of the implant has been developed by Freudenberg of Weinheim, Germany.

The biocompatible materials can be bioresorbable materials, such as fibres made from porcine gelatine, which can be decomposed and metabolised or excreted by endogenous cells.
