BMW invests in vegan leather producer
BMW i Ventures, the venture capital arm of BMW Group, has invested in Natural Fiber Welding (NFW), a sustainable materials company that produces plastic-free alternatives to foam and textiles, as well as biodegradable vegan leather.
The company produces Mirum plant-based leather using by-products from other industries, such as coconut husk fibre, which is a by-product of coconut water and oil production.
