Daiichi Kasei (DKK), a publicly traded company on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, has acquired US-based polyurethane fabric producer Ultrafabrics.
DKK and Ultrafabrics have been longstanding partners in the production of the US company’s high-performance fabrics made for many industries, including furniture, automotive, recreation vehicles, aviation, healthcare and marine.
The acquisition of the shares, reported at US$126m, saw DKK increase its previous 16% stake in Ultrafabrics to 100% and is going to form the publicly traded Ultrafabrics Holdings later this year, which includes both entities.
