Financing from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the EU has helped a Georgian sock manufacturer to boost quality.

Tiflistex was launched by Giorgi Gachechiladze three years ago on the outskirts of Tbilisi on what used to be a construction waste site.

The company now employs 40 people, sells its goods in large malls and supermarkets, and has exported socks to neighbouring Azerbaijan and also to the EU, including Greece and Austria.
