Five apparel companies that will operate under the cut-make-pack system are set to create nearly 6,000 jobs in Myanmar.
The Myanmar Investment Commission has approved the new businesses of five companies – one locally owned and four others that have received foreign investment – with the garment factories to be located in Yangon’s industrial zones.
The five companies are Myanmar Sumec Win Win Garment, Gainway International (Myanmar) Garment, Saung Oo Shwe Nay (Golden Sunshine), Sanyuan (Myanmar) Apparel Manufacturing and CM Garment Industrial, according to Myanmar media reports, with only the latter being a locally-owned company.
