ILO reveals coup impact on Myanmar's clothing sector

A quarter of a million clothing workers in Myanmar have lost their jobs following the military coup in February, according to a new study by the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The ILO said the coup, together with the economic impact of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, has caused a deep employment crisis in Myanmar with the equivalent of 2.2m jobs lost so far this year.
