Improved acoustics for electric vehicles


A new fibrous material for automotive carpet systems, inner dashes and floor insulators, which acts as an acoustic insulator or absorber depending on its stiffness, has been launched by Autoneum.

The Switzerland-based company notes that new industry trends, such as electric mobility, autonomous driving and car sharing, are increasing the requirements on future generations of vehicles.

There is a growing demand for components designed to make vehicles significantly lighter, quieter and more fuel-efficient while enhancing driving comfort.
