Indonesian textile and clothing industry dips 14.2%

According to Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has aggravated issues related to competitiveness in Indonesia’s textile and clothing industry, which contracted by 14.2% year on year in the second quarter of 2020 as both domestic and global demand slowed, compared with an annualised growth rate of 20.7% in the corresponding period of 2019.
