Indonesian textile sales predicted to grow 10% this year

Indonesia’s textile sales are predicted to rise 10% year-on-year in 2017, boosted by the growing number of producers using online sales. A growing e-commerce system has given rise to optimism, according to Desy Natalia Soeteja, general manager of Tekstile One Indonesia.

“We are optimistic that a 10% growth will be recorded this year from a growth of only 2.2% last year,” she said. “Indeed, it is time for the country’s textile industry to be aware of advancing technology. A number of textile companies in the country and abroad already utilise advanced technology to penetrate the market.”
