Bulgaria has long been known as one of the best places in Europe for the production of clothing. But in Ruse, the textile, knitwear and clothing industry is important for the industrial development of the region, with the sector employing more than 10,000 people.

Tradition, the latest technology and well-trained staff are the key advantages of the clothing sector in Ruse and the region, in which are based some of the leading clothing producers in Bulgaria.

According to industry information, it is no accident that there are garments being sewn for high-end international brands and 70-80% of foreign companies go to the Ruse region to seek business partners or to build their factories.

There are more than 250 clothing producers in Ruse, making the whole range of apparel from underwear, socks, women’s and men’s shirts, suits, coats, knitwear, corporate wear and made-to-measure to belts, handbags and accessories, from design and materials to direct logistic services.

Around 20% of the output of the companies is for EU market and the Middle East. According to an investment strategy to 2020, the industry is one of the most important in the Ruse region, after the heavy mechanical engineering and chemical industries.
