South Korea’s LG Hausys has completed construction of its Autoskin plant in Adairsville, Gordon County, Georgia, USA, and is now targeting the North American automotive market. Autoskin manufactures automotive interior materials such as fabrics for car seats, door panels and dashboards.
Construction of the 9,000 m2 plant began in July 2014 and LG Hausys has invested US$40m in the facility, which is expected to manufacture up to 6m m2 of sheet fabric annually; production began earlier this year.
Fabrics manufactured in the new Autoskin plant will be used for vehicles produced by such automobile companies as Hyundai/Kia, General Motors and Chrysler of North America.
