Lightweight comfort a key feature of Aircraft Interiors Expo 2014

With more than 9,000 visitors and over 500 exhibitors, the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2014 in Hamburg, Germany marked a 10% increase in exhibition space compared with 2013.

At the Passenger Experience Conference, Myles Hobbs of Botany Weaving, Ireland, explained that this aviation carpet and fabric manufacturer has an annual turnover of €23m and employs 130 people in three locations in Ireland.

The company is one of the largest suppliers of aircraft carpets to Airbus, with a 45% share of A320 deliveries and 30% of A330 supplies.

Carpets are of woven construction and are available as 100% wool, 90/10 wool/nylon, 80/20 wool/nylon and 100% nylon.
