Major brands sign action plan framework to protect clothing workers in Myanmar

H&M, Inditex and C&A are among the major global clothing brands that have backed an initiative to protect garment workers and factories in Myanmar from the worst impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Next, Bestseller and Tchibo have also signed up to the deal with the Industrial Workers Federation of Myanmar and the IndustriAll Global Union.

The agreement, which hopes to attract more industry stakeholders, aims to keep Myanmar’s clothing and footwear industry open and its workers protected during and after the pandemic.
