Malaysia's textile, clothing and footwear industry in meltdown

More textile, clothing and footwear manufacturers and retailers in Malaysia are likely to close owing to plummeting global demand as hundreds of millions of people are put on lockdown and the world battles the coronavirus pandemic.

Textile and garment manufacturer Esquel Group Malaysia became the latest victim of COVID-19 the pandemic as the Hong Kong-based company announced it will close down its operations in Malaysia owing to falling demand from retailers in the US and other countries.
