Millions of ASEAN jobs may be lost to automation

More than half of all workers in five South East Asian countries are at high risk of losing their jobs to automation over the next two decades, an International Labour Organization study found, with those in the clothing industry in Cambodia and Vietnam particularly vulnerable.

About 137m workers or 56% of the salaried workforce from Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam fall under the high-risk category, the study showed.
