Myanmar's clothing export earnings double

Myanmar’s clothing export earnings increased to US$940m in the year to mid-October 2016, up from US$409m in the corresponding period of 2015.

The increase in earnings was due mainly to a rise in exports to Japan and the EU. Japan accounted for about a third of the country’s garment exports; the EU and South Korea 25% each; and the US and China accounted for 2.4% each.
