Mycelium materials company develops mushroom leather products
Ecovative Design, a producer of mycelium materials, has launched Forager, a division focused on designing, marketing and manufacturing vegan, plastic-free, leather-like materials and foams for the automotive and fashion industries.
Forager Hides and Forager Foams are made from mycelium, the filamentous “root structure” of fungi. Grown on agricultural by-products, such as corn husks, these pure mycelium materials are fully biodegradable and home-compostable, without any plastic or fibre additives.
