NatureWorks, a supplier of biopolymers such as Ingeo fibres and plastics made from plants, has announced that the company has located its first Asia Pacific (A/P) regional headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand. It has also expanded its team of senior commercial, managerial and technical personnel to enhance support of Ingeo customers throughout the region and to expand business.
In October 2011, NatureWorks announced Thailand as the preferred location for its second manufacturing facility, after the plant in Blair, Nebraska, USA, which came online in 2002. Thailand’s largest chemical producer, PTT Chemical, made an equity investing of US$150m in NatureWorks, which until then had been wholly owned by Cargill.
